What are your main responsibilities?

I co-ordinate and deliver childcare and extended schools support andadvice to local authorities, for the DfES's Fast Track Programme, whichaims to deliver extended schools services.

What did you do before?

I was a senior childcare officer at Parkwood Hall School in Swanley,Kent. It's a residential school for children with learning difficulties,and I was in charge of a unit of 16- to 19-year- olds. I was there for17 years and worked my way from the bottom to the top.

What was your best career decision?

Moving to this job. It's a big change for me, as it's the first timeI've ever worked in an office. But it's the best thing I've everdone.
