Clear progression towards an Integrated Qualifications Framework, published by sector skills council the Children's Workforce Development Council and sector skills forum Children's Workforce Network, outlines a framework that will allow staff such as youth workers and youth justice workers to progress their careers.
The framework, to be introduced in 2010, comprises eight levels of qualifications made up of different units, including transition modules enabling people to change disciplines.
Steve Drowley, quality standards manager at The National Youth Agency, said the framework would provide more progression for youth workers in a profession offering fairly limited career opportunities.
