Workforce Reform: Career framework set to be published

Speaking at 4Children's conference last week, Chris Wells, head of children's workforce reform at the Department for Education and Skills, said that these positions already exist in some local services and that the Government is keen to develop the role.

The proposed career framework for the children's workforce has six job levels, from entry level to strategic leader, across five areas: early years, schools, social care, youth services and health.

The graduate or professional worker level is sandwiched between the lower-level senior support worker and higher-level senior practitioner role.
