Workforce: Charter of shared values published

A charter outlining a set of "shared values and principles" for professionals in children's services has been published.

The charter is designed to enhance the professionalism of the children'ssector. It was produced by the Children's Services Professionals'Network, which is made up of 12 professional organisations including theAssociation of Professionals in Education and Children's Trusts (Aspect)and the British Association of Social Workers.

John Chowcat, general secretary of Aspect, said: "We looked at EveryChild Matters and thought it would be good to have a common platformthat members could take back to their organisations. The next stage isto look at the practical application (of this charter)."
