Workforce strategy: New body to liaise with Government

A network of children's services professionals has been set up to discuss the Children's Workforce Strategy with the Government.

The Children's Services Professionals Network is made up of 10organisations and is jointly chaired by Aspect (The Association ofProfessionals in Education and Children's Trusts) and the BritishAssociation of Social Workers.

"There are so many changes that are going to come in under theChildren's Workforce Strategy," said John Chowcat, general secretary ofAspect.

"The Government still has to decide on all the detail and this is goingto have a huge impact on people such as social workers and educationalpsychologists. The network will discuss issues of concern and meetregularly with the DfES to have detailed consultations."
