Scottish workforce to set out values

Early Years
A statement of shared values for people who work with young children is being drawn up for Scotland's forthcoming early years strategy.

The statement is being put together by the workforce task group set up by the Scottish Government to help thrash out policies for its Early Years Framework, which will launch later this year.

A spokeswoman for the Scottish Social Services Council, which is part of the group, told CYP Now: "The group is taking forward a number of actions including: developing a shared value statement for those working in children's services; looking at joint roles within the children's workforce; and addressing skills gaps across the range of services."

The Scottish Government has also released research, which will feed into its plans, that found many families do not know where to access information about the early years services available to them.
