The parish of Walthamstow and charity Worth Unlimited have jointly appointed Samantha Lee as a community outreach worker. She was previously a community integration worker in Victoria Docks, east London.

Jane Christofi has been promoted to head of childcare services at Schoolfriend etc, which runs after-school, breakfast and holiday clubs. She previously worked at 4Children, the NHS and Westminster Play Association. She replaces Fiona Mortlock, who is starting up a consultancy advising on childcare, play work and children's centres.

Celia Watson has joined VCS Engage as programme manager. She was previously involved in grant allocation as vice chair of BBC Children in Need's London and South East committee. Watson has also designed, managed and inspected community development and government programmes.

Nasen (formerly the National Association of Special Educational Needs) has appointed Lorraine Peterson as its first chief executive. Peterson is a former head teacher and plans to work with the Training and Development Agency on revising standards for special educational needs.
