More than 750 organisations have applied for a slice of the £70m funding available through charity v's National Youth Volunteering Programme.
The Caldecott Foundation is to benefit from funds raised by the BBC Children in Need appeal and The Rochester Bridge Trust. The joint donation of £30,000 will be used to buy specialised furniture for the foundation's residential children's homes.
Young people leaving care in Scotland will receive extra support after the State Street Foundation awarded Barnardo's Scotland £10,000. The money will be spent on teaching practical skills for life.
