A road safety campaign in Scottish schools has failed to engage pupils and teachers. The toolkit was too basic for older pupils and the campaign focused too heavily on a play that was performed in only one in three schools, according to a report by the Scottish Government and Road Safety Scotland.

Anti-smoking campaigns aimed at young people can be effective as long as they use a variety of media and do not involve the tobacco industry. Research by the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence found campaigning through social networking websites to be particularly effective.
