What does Whizz-Kidz do?
Whizz-Kidz helps disabled children become more mobile and lead more independent lives. It provides customised wheelchairs, tricycles and other mobility equipment for children. The charity also provides training for children to learn to use the equipment safely. It actively engages young people's participation in its work through the Kidz Board, and a growing number of ambassador networks across the UK.
- Where is it based?
Whizz-Kidz's head office is in London. It has two mobility centres in Birmingham and Newcastle, which serve the local needs of families with disabled children. It also runs the Making Mobility Happen partnership with Tower Hamlets NHS Primary Care Trust to support young wheelchair users' mobility in the London borough. This is based at Mile End Hospital.
