WALES: Welsh Assembly to cut training budget

The reduction of local authorities' Grants for Education Support and Training budget is part of an overall decrease in funding of around 10m across Wales.

A spokesperson for the Welsh Assembly said: "Grants for Education Support and Training money will not fund youth service training, and will be transformed into the Better Schools Fund. We are working with the Education Training Standards Committee of Wales on a longer- term youth work strategy."
