The reinstatement of money by education and lifelong learning minister Jane Davidson followed the outcry when 380,000 of the Grants for Education, Support and Training budget was pulled last November (YPN, 26 November-2 December, p2).
Tanis Cunnick, head of community education at Merthyr Tydfil Youth Service, said: "We are thrilled. Without the funds, we wouldn't be able to carry out the agenda's priorities if it wasn't for quality training."
The Wales Youth Agency is to receive 10,000 to develop a continuing professional development framework.
Separately, the youth policy team at the assembly has been renamed the youth and pupil participation team.
