The committee of MPs that scrutinises Welsh policy within Westminster has said secure accommodation for young offenders in Wales is inadequate.
In a report published last week, the Welsh Affairs Select Committee said the rehabilitation of young offenders is at risk due to a lack of places at Welsh young offender institutions and new centres need to be built.
It stated: "Holding children in custody outside of Wales, sometimes at a considerable distance from home, is unacceptable."
