The commissioner's annual report, published last week, reveals thatadults accounted for the vast majority of requests for help in the2004/05 financial year.
In 54.7 per cent of cases the initial contact was made by the parents orcarers of the child and in another 12.2 per cent by children'sprofessionals.
Children made the initial contact in just 8.7 per cent of requests forhelp.
In addition, Clarke's report reveals that concerns about childprotection and social services were the biggest issues raised by thosewho asked for the commissioner's help.
The report also outlined the commissioner's plans for 2006/07. Theseinclude launching a free phoneline for children and the completion ofhis on-going review of bullying.
