The fund, called vcashpoint, will from March offer grants of up to 2,500 to help 16- to 25-year-olds turn their ideas for voluntary projects into action.
The charity has secured 1m for the scheme, in partnership with HSBC, which put up 500,000. This has allowed v to access a further 500,000 from the Government through its matched funding scheme.
This enables the organisation to access government funding as long as it is matched pound for pound by private sponsors.
The charity is launching a toolkit today (Wednesday), called Outside the Box, to help youth workers prepare young people for making applications.
