Volunteering: Charity to target socially excluded

1 min read

Youth volunteering charity v and the UK Educational Fellowship have each given 250,000 to the two-year project, which is aimed at 16- to 25-year-olds across the UK.

Participants will be given training to help them acquire "pre-volunteering skill sets" before being offered a variety of opportunities from career-developing placements in the public and private sectors to helping out with music and sport groups.

The programme has been designed in consultation with Toc H's own young volunteers. They are members of a national youth forum that will deliver 10 regional seminars on volunteering over the life of the programme. They will also be responsible for naming the programme prior to its official launch in September.
