Volunteering: Charity offers funding to appeal to new volunteers

1 min read

The vteams are a crucial part of the youth volunteering organisation's drive to create an extra million young volunteers in the next five years.

Each will consist of a youth volunteering development manager and a youth volunteering adviser, and between them they will be expected to create 23,000 volunteering opportunities.

The 20 organisations are spread across the nine regions of England. Bolton Lads and Girls Club is one of three organisations with teams in the Northwest.

Chief executive Jeremy Glover said funding would allow the club to get more young people involved in projects.

V also announced another 43 organisations that, along with the vteam providers, will share 10m from its grants programme. These will be expected to create 7,500 part-time and around 1,200 full-time volunteering opportunities.
