Established to implement the Russell Commission's recommendations, the body is offering 600,000 in grants of up to 24,000 through applications, and 400,000 of targeted funding to umbrella volunteering groups.
The body hopes to fund projects that will develop volunteering strategies further for 16- to 25-year-olds and also encourage youth organisations to promote volunteering among hard-to-reach groups such as BME and disabled young people. The grants themselves are not designed to fund youth volunteering opportunities directly.
