One of five national groups still being managed by the central Millennium Volunteers Unit, The Boys' Brigade is currently recruiting two new project officers for the north and south of England.
Martin Waters, director for programmes at the Boys' Brigade, said: "Millennium Volunteers is open to all young people. When we ran the first scheme, we were approached by a number of young people and groups outside our core group." Previously, Waters had worked with sixth-formers, but his focus now is to target young people in ethnically diverse communities, and young people who are disabled or impaired.
In some areas The Boys' Brigade is already working with Black and minority ethnic boys, and has worked with disabled groups in the past.
