Variety youth club grants

1 min read Funding Youth Work
Inaugurated in the UK in 1949 as The Variety Club of Great Britain, Variety was one of the UK's first charities to be founded especially for children and young people.

Its ethos is that all children should have an equal opportunity to reach their potential, regardless of their circumstances. It has a number of grant programmes including children's hospital grants and equipment grants. The youth club grants scheme funds equipment for youth organisations that are affiliated to either Ambition or UK Youth.

How much is available? Variety expects the youth club to help raise some of the funds in order to show its members' commitment and to increase their sense of ownership.

A grant is then provided to pay for the difference. There is no set limit on how much money will be provided. Currently, the average grant is between £250 and £600.
