Buttle UK - small grants programme

Buttle UK has been helping children and young people across the UK since 1953. Its small grants programme funds essential items such as beds, fridges and cookers for individuals and families who are in significant need.

Who will it help?

The programme helps children and young people aged 18 or under that are living with parents or carers, and young people aged 20 and under who are living independently, estranged or orphaned. The charity prioritises applications from children and young people who are facing exceptional difficulties or crisis issues such as severe poverty and deprivation, as well as social problems linked to illness, abuse and domestic violence.

How much is available?

The maximum individual grant amount is £300, as this allows the charity to reach as many children and young people as possible. The critical household items that can be provided through the grants include clothing, baby equipment, cookers, fridges, beds, washing machines, furniture and kitchen equipment, however the charity can usually only assist with one item per successful application.
