The National Youth Agency: YPDP Moving Forward event a success

1 min read

Entitled Moving Forward, the event took place from 8 to 10 November, and was designed to help all YPDP projects learn more about each other's work, to gain information and key answers to key questions. It also sought to increase knowledge and skills on certain training topics, and to generate feedback on project management and the actual delivery of work with young people. On the first day, delegates attended workshops organised by Getting Connected and YPDP, and after breakfast on day two were formally introduced to the purposes, programme and people behind YPDP by co-ordinators Sarah Hargreaves and Richard McKie.

After a keynote speech from Tom Wylie addressing the latest findings in matters affecting young people's health, delegates heard 10-minute presentations from all YPDP projects, and attended sessions led by the Family Planning Association and The National Youth Agency, which is the training and co-ordination agent for YPDP. The final day featured presentations from Karen Turner from the Department of Health, Sue Lee from Youth Access, and Mel Wiggins from SSRU, the organisation that is evaluating YPDP.
