The National Youth Agency-organised event, held at the New Connaught Rooms, London, saw young people act as expert witnesses, seminar leaders, reporters, platform speakers and a range of other roles. They even acted as "dragons" in a Dragon's Den-style exercise where council officials were invited to give a pitch for the way they worked with young people and the opportunities offered by their area. Tower Hamlets beat off opposition from Telford & Wrekin and Suffolk to be acclaimed as the most appealing local authority.
NYA staff helped facilitate a media team of young people to report on the event and create an instant web site to spread discussion further. For more details and to contribute to debate, visit the web site http://live. youthsummit.co.uk.
