- The situation

There had been a number of complaints about young people congregating at a local bus stop. Young people in turn complained that there was nowhere for them to be and worked with the parish council, Connexions and Young Farmers to identify a suitable site to locate a youth shelter. This turned out to be a long process due to opposition from some members of the community. Young people continued to work with the council and eventually secured a site and decided on an eco-friendly straw bale construction.
