The quality mark is primarily a self-assessment tool, which can be used by any organisation as a means to quality improvement. It has been developed by The NYA with the support of the Department for Education and Skills (DfES) and organisations in the field and will become operational in April.
Accreditation is available to those organisations that have worked through a self-assessment framework and have attained an established score in each of the 11 standards of the framework.
Sue Quinn, development officer at The NYA, said: "The assessors will analyse the submission through data and a visit, submit a clear recommendation to the panel for accreditation, and provide feedback to the client. To be considered for the role you will need to demonstrate sound knowledge of current policy affecting young people's services as well as the ability to analyse situations and draw sound conclusions."
