The National Youth Agency: Reclaiming a hidden heritage for LGBTyoung

"Lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people are a part of all local communities, yet they are often hidden, and young people have little access to their heritage," said Debs McCahon, national co-ordinator of Young Roots, a programme that can fund groups for up to 25,000. "We have already supported projects such as Diverse-city, which will explore lesbian, gay and bisexual heritage in Manchester, and Get Involved, which will engage LGBT young people in mounting an exhibition exploring the contrasting experiences of LGBT young people over the past 150 years. LGBT History Month could be a useful platform for groups to consider making a bid."
