The National Youth Agency: Pilots ready for take off with intergenerational programme

Eighteen projects are taking part in The National Youth Agency's pilot programme to develop and embed different models and approaches in intergenerational work.

These are The Drop Inn, Belper, Derbyshire; Feminist Webs, Manchester; East Riding of Yorkshire Council; London Borough of Harrow; London Borough of Merton; Aylesbury Vale District Council; Buckinghamshire County Council; Derbyshire County Council; Worth Unlimited, North Solihull; Trinity Church, Ossett, Wakefield; Youth Inclusion Project, Manchester; Worcester Volunteer Centre; Volunteer Centre, Glossop; Multi Agency Project, Wolverhampton; Youth Clubs Hampshire and Isle of Wight; The Jewish Lads and Girls Brigade; Community Matters, the National Federation of Community Organisations; and Changemakers.

The Agency will work with these organisations over a period of 18 months. Development officer Merlynne Francique said: "On offer are a number of consultancy days to develop strategies and policies to embed these within the organisations, to assist in the development of projects and to demonstrate how intergenerational work can be linked to other priority areas such as community cohesion, community safety, active citizenship and sustainable communities."
