The National Youth Agency: NYA assisting delivery of positive activities

The National Youth Agency has been asked by the Department for Children, Schools and Families to assist pilot local authorities selected for its programme of extended positive activities to deliver effectively.

The programme, which started this month, provides activities throughout the year for young people aged 8 to 19 to move them away from involvement in violent group crime.

In the first year the programme will be developed with 15 local authorities - Birmingham, Bristol, Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester, Nottingham, Sheffield, Trafford and the London boroughs of Croydon, Greenwich, Hackney, Haringey, Lambeth, Lewisham and Southwark.
