The National Youth Agency: Neighbourhood Support Fund - Reach

1 min read
Each week we feature one of the projects run in partnership with an NYA-managed funding stream - Young People's Development Programme, Young Roots, Partners in Innovation or the Neighbourhood Support Fund.

Neighbourhood Support Fund - Reach; Location: Sandwell

The Project: Based at the Tipton Young Asian Women's Forum, this is a network and support service that aims to raise the educational achievement of young people and increase their access to employment, training and education. Activities offered include one-to-one mentoring, study support, sporting and arts activities and volunteering opportunities. The project has also run "fun days" to increase community cohesion and diversity and develop young people's planning skills.

Young artists from the project have been awarded certificates of achievement for their artwork for hospital wards, commissioned to make patients from ethnic communities feel more at home.
