1 min read

Neighbourhood Support Fund - Pennywell Youth Project; Location: Sunderland

The Project: The young volunteers project offers accredited volunteering opportunities for up to 30 young people aged 14 to 19 a year.

Volunteering is used as a way of raising confidence, self-esteem and providing young people with life skills.

Earlier this year, the project published Listen to Us, which captures the voices and experiences of eight participants whose futures have been shaped by their involvement in volunteering. Five young people from the project have also won Young Achiever Awards in recognition of the contribution they have made to their community.
