The process was operated by a Camden Youth and Connexions Service project, supported by The NYA.
The young people then explored the top seven issues they wanted action on in their own projects, scoring how well these were doing and mapping areas for possible improvement. These ideas were introduced to the project workers and the changes ahead were then planned and agreed together.
The young people taking part came from the Shak, the Venue, Sidings, St Mary's and The Kilburn Youth Project. Young participant Leigh Cassidy-Wells said: "It's good that we're able to have our own views acted out in our youth clubs for our benefit." Two thousand pounds is being allocated by the young people to each project - the young team will be supported by named staff within each of their projects and will receive additional sessions with the Camden officer co-ordinating the project.
Alex Farrow, one of The NYA's participation team trainers, said: "This is a great journey. It is brilliant to see change happening through honest dialogue between young people and youth leaders."
