Local authority chief vows to act as a champion for young people.

A ground breaking Question Time event held at The National Youth Agency has secured a public pledge to champion young people's interests from a local authority chief executive.

Sheila Lock, interim chief executive of Leicester City Council, also called on all Directors of Children's Services to act as champions for young people's issues, recognising that to get it right for young people is critical to the success of authorities. She added: "Here in Leicester we have a strategy for the city over the next 25 years and getting it right for young people today means we will improve services for the adults of tomorrow."
