The National Youth Agency: DrugScope and The NYA publish drugsguidance for youth service

1 min read

In 2002, The NYA and DrugScope carried out a survey confirming that drugs education and drug incident management in the youth service were just as susceptible to variations in policy and practice as in schools.

Previous DfES guidance had included the youth service in its remit, but current guidance does not, prompting the development of this resource to fill the gap. Funded by the DfES and the Department of Health, the 94-page document is aimed at managers and providers of youth services in both the voluntary and statutory sectors. A summary document aimed at youth workers accompanies the main guidance.

Both documents are available for free download on the education and prevention section of the DrugScope web site and a limited number of printed copies are also available.
