The National Youth Agency: Comment - A world of positive activities

One of the problems of the ease of worldwide e-communications is also one of its joys. For, just as the majority of odd and unsolicited messages that pop up in your inbox are a nuisance, the occasional one can be a welcome read, and remind you that there really is a worldwide community out there broadly wanting the same things, wherever we live, whatever we do.

So it was with a broadening smile that I read a message from Romana Popa and Cosmin Chelcea from the beautiful city of Sibiu in central Romania outlining their Teenagers' and Children's Proclamations. It said: "We try through our activities to contribute to the personal development of our students and to their transformation in active and responsible citizens involved in the community life. As well, we want to teach them to use their spare time in a helpful, clever and responsible way." The two proclamations, they say, represent a mature life lesson to teach adults. Their hope is that, with our help, their proclamations will travel the world.
