We've been leading two exciting programmes on behalf of the Department for Children, Schools and Families - the National Body for Youth Leadership and the National Youth Week consortium and its contribution to Shine Week. Both launched in the summer sunshine this week.
We are working with a wide range of partners and stakeholders who bring expertise and commitment and there's a real opportunity for large programmes of this kind to speak to a public audience rather than just the sector. The youth sector needs little convincing that negative images of young people are unhelpful.
We need to build a wider movement through which we change the narrative about young people. This means finding new partnerships with organisations whose membership is not the young, but the adults we want to influence.
