The group used Act by Right to develop its values, knowledge and skills about evaluation to work effectively in partnership with decision makers on inspections, scrutiny and advisory groups.
Leon, who will take a leading role in the Scrutiny panel, was pleased with how the day went. "The decision makers are trying to link to young people and today will hopefully be a good step in making that stronger," he said.
"I hope decision makers will start listening to young people more so that we can offer solutions to the problems that people face within the county."
The significance of the day was never lost throughout the 10 hours of work. Leon concluded: "Today is a breakthrough for young people." This was not only a new era for the county of North East Lincolnshire, but also nationally with the launching of Act by Right as a tool for inspections and scrutiny as well as a campaign tool for community change.
