The Dulverton Trust

The Dulverton Trust is an independent body that provides grants to UK-registered charities to fund activities for disadvantaged young people. It also funds other areas including welfare and conservation. It usually provides single year grants but occasionally provides longer-term support of up to three years.

How much is on offer? Grants are typically between £10,000 and £30,000, and the trust prefers that these go to medium-sized charities with an income above £200,000. Grants to charities with an income below £200,000 (minor grants) are administered on Dulverton's behalf by the Community Foundations organisation.

What will it fund? Youth opportunity work should help disadvantaged children and young people to adopt a more positive attitude to their lives, raise their aspirations and realise their full potential. Charities that have been awarded grants in this area include those providing advice and skills training, help with finding employment, engagement with local communities and volunteering opportunities. The trust is particularly interested in applications from charities using early-intervention initiatives to ensure children from significantly disadvantaged backgrounds are given a fairer chance to develop their social, employment and life skills. It also supports activities that strengthen and support family relationships and help those who care for others.
