The 11.5m scheme's organiser, the Youth Hostels Association, has teamed up with several organisations to deliver the programme, which will be based at youth hostels this year and will cater for about 10,500 11- to 17-year-olds.
Alan Hopley, lead director of Do It 4 Real, said: "We consulted young people over the name change and they told us that Get Real didn't mean anything to them. Do It 4 Real meant that they really get to do activities, such as canoeing or working alongside football professionals, for real."
The Brathay Hall Trust, the Scout Association and Alton Towers are among the organisations lined up to run residentials this summer.
