Sport: Thinking initiative to be expanded

East Manchester Education Action Zone's Playsmart project uses sports activities to develop the cognitive abilities of 11- to 14-year-olds with the aim of increasing their attainment in school.

Playsmart uses sport or structured play to develop children's thinking skills and applies them across the school curriculum by looking at the tactics and decision-making processes in different sports.
