- What is the Youth Sport Trust?

The Youth Sport Trust is a registered charity that enhances the quality of physical education and sporting opportunities for young people. It uses the power of sport to improve the lives of young people of all abilities. It does this through producing educational sporting programmes with a wide range of partners.

- Where is it based?

The main bases are in Loughborough, on the university campus, with communications, fundraising and events teams based in London. However, the trust works right across the UK.

- What roles are available?

As well as the standard organisational roles such as finance, IT and communications, there are many roles co-ordinating and supporting sports activities, as well as delivering sports coaching. You don't have to be sporty to work at the Youth Sport Trust - a "can do" attitude is considered more important.

- Is training available?

Learning and development opportunities are available depending on the individual's skills, competencies and knowledge.

- What is the package like?

The trust offers an attractive salary, pension, childcare vouchers, 30 days holiday, sick pay, healthy-living allowance and other benefits, depending on the position.

- What's new?

Olympic gold medallist Darren Campbell has just signed up for a second year as an ambassador for the Sky Living For Sport initiative. This is a Youth Sport Trust project in partnership with the broadcaster to motivate young people through sport, particularly those who may be at risk of opting out of school. Campbell and other celebrity athlete mentors visit schools and inspire pupils aged 11 to 16. The trust has also recently celebrated the first National School Sports Week to raise the profile of PE in schools.
