Social Exclusion: Foyers to continue foundation course

The two-year pilot project saw the Learning and Skills Council directly funding colleges to support Foyers in England to deliver the City & Guilds Profile of Achievement.

The funding will now be handed out by local learning and skills councils.

The change has resulted in The Foyer Federation working over the past two weeks to identify local colleges to support individual Foyers in continuing to offer the programme. It says all 60 Foyers taking part in the project are now able to continue.

The course allows young people to combine core subjects such as maths and English with self-development, decision-making and other life skills.
