Social Care: Scotland - Manifesto aims to help children

A leading Scottish social care charity has launched its first manifesto, aimed at improving services for children with disabilities, young people with housing needs, and children living away from home.

Quarriers launched the manifesto at the Scottish Parliament last week,with the support of Labour MSP Trish Godman, whose constituency includesthe Quarriers Village site.

The document sets out the charity's vision, including full participationfor children in developing services, a revised benefits system andbetter integrated children's services.

Meanwhile, Scottish public health minister Shona Robinson has announceda 400,000 package to hold a national festival for young carersand give them more training.
