Social Care News: Social Care Stats - Kensington and Chelsea

83% of looked-after children in year 11 achieved 1 GCSE at A* to G or a GNVQ in the 12 months ending 30 September 2004 (56.1 per cent in England)

7% of looked-after children were convicted or subject to a final warning/reprimand during the year to September 2004 (9.3 per cent in England)

92% of looked-after children had their annual health assessment in the 12 months to 30 September 2004 (77 per cent in England)

2,076 gross weekly spend per looked-after child in a children's home in 2003/04 (2,048 in England)

For the last three years, Kensington and Chelsea council has gained the highest rating possible for its social services from the Commission for Social Care Inspection. It has consistently gained three stars.
