The trust was founded in 1994 to improve the care offered to children and families in the short and long term following a death.
Its work originates from a paediatrician who in the 1960s opposed hospital practices of discouraging families from being with their sick or dying babies or children.
The charity bases its practices on the experiences of bereaved children and families, who work as volunteers by contributing to its information packs and training and resource programmes, which are completed by statutory sector workers.
It also offers a confidential information and support line to signpost professionals to appropriate agencies and resources.
