Accidental injury is one of the main causes of death among children and young people and each year in the UK about two million are taken to hospital after an accident. The Child Accident Prevention Trust is committed to reducing the number of accidents in which children and young people are hurt or killed. It runs campaigns and awareness-raising events such as Child Safety Week and lobbies on issues like fireworks, road safety and bath water temperature.

The trust offers a range of services to support parents andprofessionals, including safety training and consultancy and publishes awide variety of information and resources, many of which can bedownloaded from its web site in the form of leaflets and factsheets.
