The commission dealt with 532 complaints against care homes, upholding 62 per cent, although it didn't break down the figures into child, adult and elderly care.
It also received more than 300 childcare-related complaints: one against a childcare agency, 122 against childminders and 190 related to child daycare.
It issued 10 improvement notices for child daycare, nine for child-minding and nine for care homes. A fifth of complaints were about carers, while more than a third were related to unhappiness with service.
