Why? The concept was the brainchild of Cornwall College early years lecturer and Cornish language speaker Rhisiart Tal-e-bot. The sessions are intended to encourage parents to bring children up bilingually and retain their Cornish identity. While the parents learn how to speak and bring their children up in the county's mother tongue, the children are encouraged to play using Cornish words. They are also taught songs to sing together in Cornish.
What else? The session is being funded by the Cornish Language Partnership, which has committed to providing any resources required as well as additional funds of £50 each week. Cornwall College is also helping out by offering the premises to the pre-school for a very small cost.
