Scotland: Volunteer group to run youth panels

1 min read

The organisation plans to sub-contract the task of recruiting and supporting local panels of 11- to 25-year-olds to volunteer centres in each of Scotland's 32 local authorities.

From January, the panels will meet every two months for two years to consider applications for a share of the 20m fund. The volunteer centres will be free to decide whether the meetings are face to face or virtual.

The centres will also gather information about the services for young people in their area, and identify gaps so panels can decide how to allocate funds.

VDS will then subcontract the training of the young people selected on the panels to Youthlink Scotland.
