Scotland: Scottish youth club to establish forum

The forum is seen by the association's chief officer Tom Leishman as crucial to the future survival of the organisation, which has been running since 1928.

The forum will have an advisory role and will be used to develop future leaders of the organisation.

Leishman hopes that forum members will eventually progress to board level. Members will also be represented on the organisation's board.

"We have an ageing board and committee structure which needs to be replenished," said Leishman. "This forum is an investment for the future." The forum will comprise 15 18- to 25-year-olds, all of whom have been members of the organisation's 150 clubs.
