NCB Now: Membership forum to steer the way

1 min read
There are many reasons why NCB is a membership organisation.

Inherent in working collaboratively and as a multi-disciplinary partnership organisation is a need for specific partnerships for specific projects, but we also need wide-ranging partnerships based on shared goals, and a diverse constituency to ensure that those working towards the best outcomes for children have a voice into NCB and can effectively influence the direction it is taking.

That is the role of NCB members and of the many councils, fora and networks with which NCB works. To help maximise this role, NCB is introducing changes to the governance of the organisation, including a new membership forum.

The primary focus of the forum will be to strengthen member and partner engagement with NCB, to provide a link between trustees and those members and partners, and to advise the board of trustees on policy development and strategic direction. NCB's board of trustees will have a specific duty to take account of the membership forum's recommendations.
